The origin of Tskhaltubo thermal spring is 100-150 thousand years old. The chemical analysis of waters were made in 1902 by professor Petriashvili, the radioactive quality of Tskhaltubo mineral waters were discovered in 1912 by professor Kunts.
Tskhaltubo mineral waters are small mineral; its components are very difficult. Its consists of

Many active elements were discovered in Tskhaltubo mineral waters: iodine, bromine, manganese, boron, zinc, strontium, lead, chrome, fluorine, nickel, which are very important for life.
Very important are gases: azotes (for 1 liter 18 cubic centimeter with touch of the human skin is covered by blander, which is full of gases) radon, helium and argon.
Tskhaltubo waters are radioactive (because of a radon). The radioactive level is between 1¸2,65 nK/l ( 7,5 unit Mache) and its more the normal 5¸40 nK/l . So we can think its not radioactive at all.
The natural temperature of water is 34,6 degree centigrade. The waters are specific and we can say, that there are no analogs. They often called “termical”, “radon”, “gas”, “azot”, ”sulfat-magnesion-calcic-natrium”. The affect of waters are depended on the specific combinations of the elements.

The most important treatment of Tskhaltubo is “speleo therapeutics”. The treatment quality of Tskhaltubo cave was discovered during the Second World War. The exploration of Tskhaltubo cave began in 1970 by balneology Institute.
They found out that the temperature is 13-14 during the year the relative humidity is high and absolute humidity is low. The barometric pressure 3¸5 mm. The air of cave doesn’t consist the dust, it is rich of oxygen and its very active oxygen, and carbohydrate’s most pants are taking pant in arterial pressure normalization. They doesn’t change during some period of time. We must speak about caves as gasomanatorium and biotrons, which are used during bronchial asthma, hypertension, nervosas and other diseases.
For treatment the first time was used the “White cave”. There are other caves in Tskhaltubo which are important for “spaleotheraputism” treatment.
